Do you want to plug Xbox 360 (or any other device with an HDMI output) into your glorious 27” iMac screen? Well good news folks, you can do just that with the new Kanex HDMI to Mini Displayport adapter! It’s sexy (as a box goes), with a brushed aluminum shell to fit in with your awesome looking iMac.
The bad news is the price, which is approximately £125.99/$108.45 (yes yes, our “friends” over the pond get it cheaper). This sounds a lot (which it is!), but it is an active converter (the Displayport doesn’t accept a HDMI or VGA signal so it has to do a whole load of fancy jiggerypokery), so your normal external monitor cable can’t do the job.

Microsoft seem set to add a much sought-after upgrade to the Xbox Live service; they are finally going to increase the voice communications bandwidth to catch up with broadband! How futuristic!
So the protocol they use was written for the original Xbox to run on 56/64k connections and hasn’t been updated since – it’s obviously in dire need of an upgrade! Avid voice-trolling enthusiasts (and you social types!) will be able to enjoy the crystal-clear voice comms come the dashboard update ‘this fall’ – which, knowing Microsoft, will likely hit around November to coincide with the launch of Kinect (née Natal).

What will you do when your Xbox inevitably succumbs to the RROD? If you’re lucky enough for it to still be under warranty you’ll probably send it off to the good folks at Microsoft, if not… use it as an expensive weapon in your next pub bar fight?
Well now you have a third option, courtesy of Australian designer and legend in chief Alexis Vanamois – the Xbox 360 coffin! Why you’d want to do your 360 the honour of a proper burial when ultimately it’s let you down, leaving you at the mercy of PS3 owners I don’t know, but still… the man’s got style no?

Any Halo fans out there? In case you hadn’t already come across this gem on your daily internet-exploits, the good folks over at Bungie have bequeathed unto us the first in, what will hopefully be, a long line of ViDocs leading up to their next big release; Halo: Reach. The ViDoc itself is titled ‘Once More Unto The Breach’. Ominous! Are you as excited as I am? Oh, and it has also been announced that the Reach multiplayer beta is going live in May – accessible through the automatic invitation on your copy of Halo 3: ODST. Enjoy the clip, folks!

New signing Rob starts off with a review of Operation Flashpoint : Dragon Rising. Please be nice to him, he’s only little!

Operation flashpoint: Dragon Rising is a somewhat unique game in that although other titles have claimed to push the boundaries of warfare realism, OF actually does. Forget glitzy Hollywood visuals and set pieces, lightning quick weapon changes and the somewhat ridiculous ability to “throw back” grenades, OF drops you head first into what US marines would call “the suck” and expects you to scramble over its steep learning curve like a road runner with a coyote up its arse.
